Kelantan Red Warriors FC’s quest for maximum points in the 2025/26 A1 Semi-Pro League was thwarted as Immigration FC II fought back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, Kota Bharu, last night.
First Half Drama
The match began at an intense pace with both Kelantan Red Warriors and Immigration FC II exchanging attacking moves. Despite several clear-cut chances in front of over 2,000 spectators, solid defensive work from both sides kept the scoreline blank in the opening exchanges.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 20th minute through a fortunate sequence. Zuasyraf Zulkiefle’s delivery found Rizuan Muda, whose effort struck the crossbar before rebounding perfectly for Fazli Ghazali to head home the opener.
Zuasyraf turned provider again just five minutes later, his long ball catching goalkeeper Nasriq Baharom off guard, allowing Emmanuel Mbarga to tap in comfortably for the Red Warriors’ second goal.
Immigration FC II Response
Undeterred by the two-goal deficit, the visitors responded quickly. A swift counter-attack led by Said Khamis saw Furqan Azri’s initial attempt saved by Amin Faisal, but the follow-up fell kindly to Hazim Abu Said who reduced the deficit just two minutes after Mbarga’s goal.
The remainder of the first half saw relentless attacking from both teams, particularly from Immigration FC II through the pace of Alif Romli. However, the defensive partnership of Latiff Suhaimi and Arham Khussyairi stood firm to preserve the Red Warriors’ slender lead going into halftime.
Second Half Intensity
The second period maintained the same competitive intensity with referee managing the physical contest well. Early Immigration FC II threats from Said Khamis were dealt with by Amin, while Hafiz Kamal’s attempts were expertly blocked by Latiff Suhaimi.
The Red Warriors’ attacking efforts through Faiz Nasir, Mbarga, and substitute Mazwan Che Mat were also neutralized until the 69th minute when Immigration FC II found their equalizer. A free-kick from midfield found substitute Afiq Hilman, who made no mistake to level the scores at 2-2.
Late Push for Victory
The equalizer energized the visitors who launched two dangerous counter-attacks that required brilliant interventions from Latiff Suhaimi and Aiman Joanny to keep the scores level.
As the match entered its final stages, the Red Warriors intensified their pressure on goalkeeper Izarul Adli’s goal. However, attempts from Mbarga and Rafiee Yaacob lacked the necessary power to find a winning goal, resulting in the Matchweek 14 fixture ending in a 2-2 stalemate.
