Kelantan Red Warriors FC has confirmed the departure of Pakistan international striker Otis Khan following the mutual termination of his contract, as the club restructures ahead of the second transfer window of the Malaysian League next month.
The announcement was made through KRW’s official social media channels, stating that the decision was reached by mutual agreement between both parties in accordance with contractual terms and conditions.
Strategic Squad Restructuring
KRW management explained that the move is part of efforts to strengthen the squad for the second phase of the A1 Semi-Pro League. Head coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim has recommended bringing in new foreign players to reinforce key positions, ensuring a more competitive squad going forward.
According to the statement, the position previously occupied by Khan has been filled by a local player deemed capable of providing equivalent contributions. This necessity led the club and coaching staff to make the difficult decision to part ways with the 29-year-old forward.
The termination is viewed as a strategic measure to allow KRW to reassess their import requirements in more critical positions within the squad.
Looking Ahead
This decision opens opportunities for KRW to fine-tune their roster in pursuit of improved performance during the league’s second phase. The club aims to bounce back stronger following a challenging start to the season, with the restructuring seen as a crucial step toward achieving their competitive objectives.
The Red Warriors will now focus on identifying and securing new signings during the upcoming transfer window to bolster their campaign.
